Position Overview toggle

We are looking for a talented and motivated architect to join our team in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, starting with the project in Leipzig. The role focuses on understanding development plans (B-Plan) and building regulations to adapt Cherry Communities’ modular housing solutions to designated plots. The position starts part-time with the possibility of transitioning to full-time depending on performance and project requirements.

Employment Type: Part-time (20 hours/week) with transition to full-time (40 hours/week) depending on performance

Main Responsibilities toggle

  • Ensure compliance with building regulations and development plan (B-Plan) requirements.
  • Conduct site and land analyses (surveys, boundaries, setbacks, height restrictions).
  • Adapt Instabuilt modular building solutions (1M–3M configurations) for buildings with 1–4 stories.
  • Create designs, presentations, and catalogs for housing modules and related infrastructure (stairs, elevators, storage areas, garages).
  • Collaborate with internal teams, building authorities, and contractors for project approval and implementation.
  • Support completion of the multi-family project in Leipzig according to technical requirements.

Qualifications toggle

  • Degree in architecture or a related field.
  • Architectural license required.
  • Experience in modular construction and German building regulations/B-Plan compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of German building codes and approval procedures.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software.
  • Fluent in English; German skills are a strong advantage.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in international teams.

Employment Conditions toggle

Contract: Part-time (20 hrs/week), with transition to full-time until 31.12.2025 and possible extension.

Salary: Competitive, based on qualifications, including overtime and holiday compensation.

Workplace: Baden-Württemberg (with the option for partial remote work).

The role includes performing structural calculations for timber-based, volumetric, and multi-story modular constructions, supporting factory production processes, supervising construction sites, managing projects, and ensuring building permits.   • Use structural analysis software (e.g., Dlubal, mb AEC, or similar programs for timber panel wall systems) to ensure compliance with German building regulations and Eurocodes.
  • Support factory production and optimize designs for manufacturing.
  • Provide technical supervision during site assembly and construction execution.
  • Prepare structural documentation for building permits and regulatory approvals.
  • Adapt designs to site-specific conditions (based on geodetic surveys, development plans, and B-Plan requirements).
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and international teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Qualifications toggle

  • Degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related field.
  • Must be a licensed engineer.
  • Proven experience in designing timber-based, modular, or multi-story constructions.
  • Knowledge of structural analysis software (e.g., Dlubal, mb AEC, or similar programs for timber panel wall systems) and CAD tools.
  • Strong understanding of German building regulations and Eurocodes.
  • Experience in factory-based modular production and on-site assembly.
